Mr. Belzberg has more than 48 years of experience in the office real estate industry and is currently the Chairman and CEO of Second City Capital Partners and the President of Gibralt Capital Corporation. In the 1970s he founded First City Financial, which he built into a multi-billion dollar financial services organization with offices across North America and Europe. In the 1990s he established Balfour Holdings, a real estate company that at its peak operated 26 projects prior to its acquisition by Blackstone, a prominent private equity firm.
Mr. Farrar has over 20 years of experience in the private equity, real estate and corporate finance industry. Since 2009 he has been involved in over $1.7 billion of real estate acquisitions across the United States. Mr. Farrar joined Second City Real Estate in 2009 as a Managing Director and prior to this, spent seven years as an executive at a family office with a diversified portfolio primarily concentrated in the real estate sector.
Mr. Tylee has over 20 years of diverse real estate experience that includes the acquisition of income producing properties as well as high rise development. Over his career, he has been involved in over $2 billion of real estate transactions. He joined Second City Real Estate in 2010 and has been primarily responsible for sourcing, underwriting and acquiring properties throughout the United States.
Mr. Chan has over 20 years of experience in real estate development, construction and operations. He has extensive experience in structuring acquisitions and capitalizations in complicated or opportunistic situations in the United States and Canada. Mr. Chan has been managing the real estate investment portfolio for SCRE and it's affiliates since 2005 and he is also responsible for the corporate finance, taxation, and treasury management. Previously, he held increasingly senior roles for real estate developers, including Anthem Properties and Parklane Homes. Mr. Chan received a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from State University of New York and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
Mr. Seeley has a strong background in real estate investment and operations, private equity, and commercial banking. Throughout Western Canada and the US he has been involved in over $1 billion of real estate investment transactions across the office, multi-family, retail, industrial, and hotel real estate sectors. Formerly, at HSBC's commercial banking operations, Mr. Seeley managed a large portfolio of commercial loans, trade finance products, and derivative contracts. Mr. Seeley holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation and is a CFA Charter Holder.
Mr. Gregson is involved in all aspects of Second City Real Estate, including acquisition analysis, due diligence, and asset management. He joined the Second City team subsequent to his graduate internship with The Related Companies’ Fund Management (Related) office in Dallas. At Related, he assisted with acquisitions, dispositions, and the asset management of over 10,000 multi-family units. Prior to graduate school, he worked as a tenant representation broker in Austin, TX. He has worked on over $375 million in completed sale and leasing transactions across the office, industrial, and multi-family sectors. Mr. Gregson holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Louisiana State University and a MBA from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.
Mr. Kyun joined Second City in 2015 and is actively involved in acquisitions, due diligence and asset management. Before joining Second City, Mr. Kyun was a Financial Analyst for Colliers International Consulting, achieving client objectives through the assessment of various land use strategies and deal structures. Through his previous positions, Mr. Kyun gained valuable experiences in corporate finance, real estate developments and investments. Mr. Kyun holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with the Sauder School of Business (UBC) and has completed all 3 levels of his CFA examinations.
Mr. McLernon is currently the President of McLernon Consultants Ltd. From 1977 to 2004 he served as Chairman and CEO of Colliers International, a global real estate services company, where he was instrumental in the company’s exponential growth. During his tenure, he completed approximately 30 mergers, acquisitions and start-ups across North America, Asia and Europe while overseeing the organization’s strategic direction.
